50 years into the "War on Poverty," hardships exist more than ever in McDowell County, West Virginia, one of the poorest counties in the United States and where Experience Mission teams serve every summer. It can often seem hopeless with so many different things dragging a community down, but remember that despite all of the brokenness there is hope! We see it in efforts of individuals and families every time we serve there, and we are constantly striving to bring out that hope for the betterment and empowerment of the citizens of McDowell County.
