My Story
The last few months, I have been on a journey of discovering what God's purpose and plan for my life is. As I have grown in my faith, I feel like I have had an increasing desire to serve others which I believe God has planted in my heart. As I have dreamed and planned to have a successful aerospace engineering career, this desire was new and uncomfortable because it felt as though it was going against my plan. Through a lot of prayer and discernment on what to do with my last summer before I graduate, I have decided to explore this desire through a mission position.
That is when I found Experience Mission (EM) and their Summer Missions Internship online. The internship gives young adults the chance to serve for a summer in communities across the U.S. and beyond, leading volunteers and coordinating all the details for short-term mission trips. I feel humbled to be given this opportunity and it's unbelievable how all the details have come together so quickly. I know God is behind it and I'm excited about the ways that it will prepare me for life.
This summer, I'll join a team of a few other young adults to serve on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona! We'll be working with local pastors and churches who are reaching out to their community through outreach and work projects. Multiple mission teams will be coming on short-term trips throughout the summer, and I'll be responsible for organizing and facilitating their trips! Specifically, I believe I will be the construction coordinator and we will be building a warehouse for this church to store resources that they will give to the locals in need!
Although EM provides a weekly stipend and housing for the summer, taking this position over others will be a sacrifice for me financially. I have a goal of raising $2000 in additional support to help prepare me for the fall and for life after college. I want to make sure that when I leave for the summer, that I have a network of people and my community who are supporting me through prayer and financially. I will be there from May 20th to August 5th and will include long hours, so having the support of others would absolutely help me through the tough weeks.
Thank you so much in advance for partnering with me through this journey! I know it may be a sacrifice to support me financially, and I want you to know that I truly appreciate it! I would also like to mention that prayerful support means much more to me than any donation. I would love to talk with you more about this opportunity and cannot wait to update you with what God has done through this! Thanks again for your support!
Sincerely,
Rob Cieri
